The pre-scene consultation is a conversation before you begin a BDSM interaction, during which you clearly establish wants, limits, expectations, desires, boundaries, safe words, and more.

YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO HAVE A CONVERSATION BEFORE A SCENE.

(Yes, we used the word always.)

When you’re including things like restraint, impact, or any sort of power dynamics, you MUST have a conversation before—because even if you’ve done things together 100 times, this one time, you may not want to do *that* thing and you gotta have a container to communicate about that.
